Letter from the Embassy of Pakistan to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (No. 1954-F-129/54)

The Embassy of Pakistan present their compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Central People’s Government of the People’s Republic of China and have the honour to narrate below a report which has been received about the death of a Pakistan national Syed Abdul Qadir Khan of Sha Che (Yarkand):

 

2. Syed Abdul Qadir Khan s/o Haji Syed Chulam Mohammed Shah was accorded permission to leave Sinkiang in August 1951. While he had in hand the preparations for departure his property consisting of 300 mow of land, houses, 4 horses, farm produced and other miscellaneous belongings were all forcibly taken over. Further according to the report he was simultaneously put under confinement by some local people who subjected him to extreme molestation which resulted in his death. He is reported to have left behind a minor a daughter and some other heirs, who seem to have been deprived of the heritage.

 

3. The Embassy would be grateful if an investigation is made about the circumstances which lead to the death of Syed Abdul Qadir Khan as also the disposal of the deceased’s property.

 

The Embassy of Pakistan avail themselves of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Central People’s Government of the People’s Republic of China the assurances of their highest consideration.

The Embassy of Pakistan writes to the Chinese Foreign Ministry regarding the welfare of Pakistani nationals in Xinjiang.
