[handwritten letter]

to the Marshal of the Soviet Union

Comrade M. V. Zakharov

I report:

Concerning the “Anadyr’” operation, 8000 vehicles, 500 prime movers, and 100 tractors have been sent with the standard means of technical maintenance (VAREhM [military automotive repair and maintenance workshop]) and current repair (PARM-1 [mobile motor vehicle repair workshops]). For the field repair of vehicles only one PARM-3 in the missile troops has been sent.

In connection with the fact that one PARM-3 can service up to 2000 vehicles, it is necessary to additionally do the paperwork and send abroad two more augmented PARM-3 motor vehicle repair workshops numbering up to 120 servicemen each.

Considering the special conditions of the troops of Pavlov’s group, to maintain the necessary stocks of motor transport equipment and their uninterrupted supply of the units and formations it is advisable to send Pavlov a depot of motor transport equipment (of the army type) numbering 24 servicemen and 12 workers and employees with spare parts and equipment, a total weight of up to 2000 tons.

I submit a draft directive. Please sign.

General-Colonel

S. P. Ivanov
