The topic of discussions was Soviet foreign policy toward Africa and Asia and the Soviets tried to convince the Czechoslovak that relations with these regions were developing well despite several right wing military coups which had taken place in the previous two years. Africa came to the fore, during the discussions, as an area in which the Soviets were investing a lot of time and money.

The document records the state of play in Syrian-Soviet relations prior to the Six-Day War. According to the author of the report negotiations between the Syrian Ba’ath delegation and Soviet authorities, which took place in Moscow during January 1967, were tense and uneasy because the Soviets were displeased by the provocative and aggressive Syrian policy toward Israel.

Report noted that China was making efforts to increase its influence in Syria. Nevertheless, the author of the document concluded that Syria was too dependent on Soviet aid and therefore would not become a Chinese satellite.

Czechoslovak ambassador reports on contact with the new Egyptian ambassador to Rome. The Egyptian ambassador criticizes British imperialism in Egypt and American foreign policy. He then asks if Egypt could buy small arms from Czechoslovakia for use in the Egyptian war for independance against the British.

An Egyptian delegation visited Czechoslovakia to discuss strengthening Czechoslovak-Egyptian relations. However, the Egyptians refuse a Czechoslovak delegation to discuss a commercial agreement between the two coutnries.
