1968	Politburo of the CPSU CC, 'On the Draft Model Agreement of Non-Nuclear States with the IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] in Accordance with the NPT' This document references the draft model agreement of non-nuclear weapons states, instructing both the Soviet MFA and the Ministry of Medium Machine Building (which supervised the Soviet nuclear industry) to conduct negotiations with the US to solidify this agreement. After negotiating with the Americans, they are instructed to make sure that the project is approved by the IAEA Board of Governors and inform socialist UN member states and the GDR about the Soviet position on the NPT.
July 27, 1968	Note, Andrei Gromyko to CPSU CC In this note to the CPSU CC, Andrei Gromyko lists the ministers of foreign affairs who will be coming to Moscow to sign the NPT. Ministers from these three Socialist nations are confirmed as guests: Czechoslovakia, GDR, and the Mongolian People's Republic.
May 31, 1968	Note, Andrei Gromyko to CPSU CC, 'Regarding the Location of the NPT's Signing' This document is a communication to the Soviet UN delegation in New York, written by Vasily Vasilievich Kuznetsov, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
1990	Report on the Withdrawal of Soviet Troops from Eastern Europe This report lists the quantities of troops and pieces of military equipment that were being withdrawn from Czechoslovakia, Hungary, the GDR, and Poland. It also details alternate timelines for withdrawal proposed by leadership in Central and Eastern Europe.
October 16, 1986	Statute on the Inter-Governmental Commission to Coordinate the Work of the PRB, HPR, GDR, PPR, USSR, and CSSR on Export Control on a Multi-Party Basis This statute creates an inter-governmental commission aimed at coordinating the efforts of the People's Republic of Bulgaria, the Hungarian People’s Republic, the German Democratic Republic, the Polish People’s Republic, the USSR, and the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic to prevent exports that might be used by capitalist or developing countries to reach their military or economic potentials.
March 26, 1948	Record of a conversation between I. V. Stalin and the Leaders of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany, Wilhelm Pieck and Otto Grotewohl Stalin, Pieck, and Grotewohl have a lengthy conversation about the Soviet Zone of Occupation and the activities of the Socialist Unity Party.
September 17, 1970	Concerning the Note of the GDR Ambassador in the USSR 'Regarding Several Pressing Political Issues in Connection with the Preparation of the 20th Summer Olympic Games in Munich and Kiel in 1972' The East German ambassador passes along concerns that the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich will be used by West Germany for anti-socialist purposes.
1996	Excerpts from Recollections by the Former Soviet Ambassador in North Korea Aleksandr Kapto Aleksandr Kapto reflects on the Soviet Union's normalization of relations with South Korea, and the consequential fallout in relations between North Korea and the USSR. According to Kapto, North Korea threatened to develop nuclear weapons and withdraw from the NPT as a result of Soviet-South Korean rapprochement.
January 26, 1990	Discussion of the German Question at a Private Meeting in the Office of the CPSU CC General Secretary In a conversation recorded by Chernyaev, Gorbachev candidly discusses the political situation in East and West Germany, the weakness of the Socialist Unity Party (SED), and the Soviet strategy for managing German reunification.
September 15, 1958	Report to Central Committee on Press Conference about 'Provocative and Subversive Activities of American Radio Stations' Description of a 1958 press conference in Moscow organized by the State Committee on Cultural Relations, with KGB assistance, to discredit Western broadcasts to the USSR and Eastern Europe. The press conference drew on the presence of alleged former employees of the radio stations.
