The CPSU Central Committee calls on the Soviet Embassy in London to lodge a protest over a new BBC film about the Katyn massacre. The CPSU insists the massacre was perpetrated by the Nazis.

A directive from the Politburo, instructing Vyshinsky on voting strategies for a UN draft resolution regarding nuclear armaments control. Vyshinsky is to vote against the draft of the three powers unless India proposes transferring the draft to the Commission; he is also to vote against all points of the draft except the individual secondary provisions.
The decree, voted on by Malenkov, Mikoyan, Molotov, and Khruschev, supports the adoption of the proposed draft instructions.

An analysis from the Soviet Embassy in the DRV of the response in the Democratic Republic of Vietnman to the 9th Chinese Communist Party Congress. The DRV is reported to be dissatisfied with the lack of attention and indifference the CPC Congress paid to Vietnam.

The Central Committee resolves to have the Central Committees of SED, CPC, HSWP, and RCP determine who will send illegal, short-wave radio transmissions into Iran, and to have the chosen group send a representative as well as two technical specialists to consider the requirements for said transmissions.
