Nehru gives a detailed report on his visit to China and Indo-China. He first gives a summary of the issues and topics he covered in discussions in China with Zhou En-Lai and Mao, which covered a broad range of subjects including China's Five Year Plan, and various foreign policy issues. Nehru then describes his visit to Indochina, where he speaks with Ho Chi Minh (five days after he takes control of Hanoi) in North Vietnam, and also tours South Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

Mao reports to Stalin regarding an enemy aircraft attempting to sever Chinese-Soviet communication lines in Korea. Mao requests the Soviet air force assistance.

Mao instructs Chinese Minister of National Defense Peng Dehuai to hault military maneuvers and prepare air forces for the planned bombardment of Jinmen Island in the Taiwan Strait.

Mao addresses the Central Military Commission to report on China's steel production, which he believes will surpass the Soviet Union's capability in seven years and the United States' in ten. He also makes it known that China will build "atom bombs, hydrogen bombs and inter-continental missiles," and believes this can be done in as few as ten years.

Mao Zedong informs Stalin of his agreement to the Soviet proposals regarding the strengthening of air forces, and sends congratulations on the recent successful military exploits against the American side.

Zhou Enlai reports on the Soviet plans to strengthen the air force, presumably as a show of force to the American side.
