November 12, 1957	Note about a Conversation with the 2nd Secretary of the Polish Embassy, Comrade Juswiak, and the Attache of the Polish Embassy, Ivankov, on 2 November 1957 During the dinner at Czech embassy, Behrens spoke about the situation in FRG. Other topics included Korean students in Poland and GDR, and the situation in South Korea.
September 15, 1988	Note of a Meeting between the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the SED and Chairman, Comrade Erich Honecker, and the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Yasser Arafat, on 15 September 1988 Arafat reports that the First Intifada, which began ten months earlier, has strengthened the PLO. He describes the PLO’s plans going forward and their anticipated impact on Israel. Honecker expresses East Germany’s steadfast support for the PLO and talks about potential progress towards peace on the international stage.
March 12, 1981	Session of the CPSU CC Politburo, 12 March 1981 (excerpt) Brezhnev summarizes his meeting with E. Honecker regarding the efforts of the PZPR to suppress the rise of antisocialist political opposition forces in Poland. K.V. Rusakov and A.A. Gromyko respond by expressing their worries about the situation in Poland and criticizing the PZPR for not taking decisive measures to restore order and control over the country.

November 30, 1960	Record of Meeting of Comrade N.S. Khrushchev with Comrade W. Ulbricht Ulbricht explains the economic situation in the GDR and East Berlin in the context of the Berlin Crisis, and proposals for East German economic development. Ulbricht and Khrushchev discuss the possibility of political and economic peace negotiations with the FDR and the three Western powers.

The report covers issues such as developing countries’ growth in exports, the trade balances of various Western countries, East-West trade, and trends for 1967.
August 15, 1956	Ministry for State Security, Main Department II, ‘Egypt’ The economic relations between the GDR and the Republic of Egypt are presented, starting with the trade agreement signed on May 7, 1953, and the exchange of consular representation. Political relations between the countries were hindered, according to the report, by pressure from the FRG on Egypt and the question of whether recognizing the GDR meant creating a deeper split between the FRG and the GDR. The report also mentions problems in meeting the export and import plans set forth in the trade agreement, including unpunctuality on the side of the GDR’s trade missions. The report states that Nasser enjoys great popularity in his country as a result of his position towards the West, social politics within the country, cooperation with other Arab countries and improvements in the industrial sector. This is followed by a detailed description of Egypt’s political situation and a proposition to extend political and economic cooperation while trying to reduce the influence of the West. Finally, the report recommends continued rejection of Israel's demands for compensation.
March 17, 1989	GDR Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Department Near and Middle East, 'On the Question regarding a Short-term Establishment of Diplomatic Relations with Israel' On the basis of the information of Kurt Loeffler's visit to Israel, Neumann proposes a list of measures concerning diplomatic contacts in Israel. He says that a change in the Israeli attitude toward conflict in the Middle East is necessary in order for the GDR to establish further contacts in Israel. Neumann discusses other factors which encourage or discourage the establishment of further contact.
